Organ Types

Each organ has its own clinical pathway, eligibility criteria, and survival benchmarks. National averages are computed from SRTR Program-Specific Reports and reflect cohort outcomes, not predictions for any individual patient. Center-to-center variation is expected; SRTR uses risk-adjusted models to flag programs whose results sit outside the expected range.

Field	Meaning
On waitlist	Patients currently registered nationally for this organ. Wait times vary widely by region and blood type.
Transplants reported	Transplants counted nationwide in the most recent SRTR report. SRTR’s counting window for this table is longer than one year, so it is not an annual rate.
Active centers	Programs reporting at least one transplant in the cohort window.
